PROJECT 101 RESIDENTIAL AGED CARE_ST KILDA VICTORIA

Baumgart Clark Architects has been engaged to design and deliver the new Aged Care premises and refurbished existing facility, along with a host of other functions, at the Sacred Heart Mission Campus in Grey Street St Kilda. The project involves the staged delivery of an expanded aged care facility with associated Rooming House, Hands on Health medical clinic, administration area and Women’s House.

The complexity of this project lies in the requirement to maintain residents living in the buildings while construction is staged around them. This, combined with the fact of the site being quite built-up and in a relatively dense urban neighbourhood, means that there is little margin for error. Baumgart Clark Architects has been able to design and plan the project accordingly.

The site falls within a heritage overlay and includes buildings of heritage significance which have been carefully adapted to their proposed uses. The project is in the planning stage, and is programmed for completion under a strategic staging programme by 2021.
